Destination Wedding in Udaipur – Vika & Alex

Vika and Alex live in Amsterdam, but their hearts were set on something a little more cinematic for their big day. And what better destination than Udaipur—the city of lakes, palaces, and sunsets that look like they’ve been painted in gold? Their wedding at Jagmandir Palace was exactly that: a dream set on water, wrapped in royal domes and glowing lights.

Before the festivities began, Vika spent a quiet morning with her bridesmaids at the palace, and we couldn’t help but turn it into a mini celebration of its own. Between sips of champagne, playful moments on the swings, and an impromptu pillow fight in one of the most ornate bedrooms we’ve seen, the girls brought such warmth and laughter to the day. It was the kind of evening where time slows down and friendship takes centre stage—pure joy before the whirlwind begins.

Cocktail

Dancing, Fireworks & a Little Bit of Madness

The cocktail night kicked off with glitz, glamour, and a whole lot of heart. Vika and Alex made a sparkling entrance—literally—amidst fireworks and applause, setting the tone for an evening of joy and celebration.

There was laughter, emotional hugs, and a few heartfelt tears… quickly followed by wild dance moves, neon lights, and a very competitive round of limbo (yes, that happened). It was one of those nights where everyone let go—where elegance met unfiltered fun. And through it all, Vika and Alex glowed, wrapped in love, light, and the people they adore.

Mehendi

Day 2 started with a sun kissed Mehendi on the rooftop of the Chunda Palace. With an unfortunate case of food poisoning, Vika wasn’t feeling her best – but soldiered on like a champion! Of course, with Alex by her side, she was still a bundle of energy.

Sangeet Night

A Night of Dance, Laughter, and Heartfelt Moments

Vika and Alex’s sangeet was nothing short of spectacular, blending tradition with vibrant energy. The venue was bathed in rich, golden hues as the night unfolded. Guests were greeted by a stunning setup, where the stage was set for an evening of lively performances.

The highlight was certainly the dance performances—Vika and her friends stole the show, showcasing their moves under the glittering lights. And just as the energy reached its peak, the couple took center stage, radiating love and joy as they shared a moment that would stay with them forever.

Haldi

Haldi Hai!
The next morning kicked off with the most vibrant and chaotic celebration — their haldi! From the moment they walked in, laughter and gulaal filled the air. Friends and family smeared haldi, showered petals, and even pushed the groom into the pool (multiple times). It was all sunshine, mischief, and love — just the way a haldi should be.

Wedding Day

Thankfully by now Vika was back to her normal self – the wedding at the Jagmandir Palace was something that everyone (including us) was looking forward to. Afterall, how often is it that you see weddings that’s held in the middle of a lake in a royal palace that’s still owned by a King?

Looking back, Vika and Alex’s wedding wasn’t just about the grandeur of palaces or the vibrant celebrations — it was about the people. The laughter, the chaos, the little hugs, and the big moments. It was about two cultures coming together effortlessly, and two people who couldn’t stop smiling at each other through it all. We feel incredibly lucky to have been part of this beautiful celebration, and even luckier to have walked away with new friends and unforgettable memories.
